Course Description
Physicians’ current model of ‘fee-for-service’ is continually being re-evaluated as the most efficient pathway for health insurance reimbursement. Bundled Payment Programs are an updated, likely mechanism of hospital and physician reimbursement for the future. Bundled Payments have already been implemented in other specialties and have met with varying levels of success. Unfortunately, this remains a complicated and misunderstood model for most physicians. Recently, CMS has offered an option to develop and utilize bundled payments for bariatric surgery. This symposium will educate and prepare surgeons to develop this pathway and utilize this method of reimbursement.
